All Things Crooked, Including a Hat Design!

Source

There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile,
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse.
And they all lived together in a little crooked house

Yes, folks!  Zigzag is in and it’s sweeping across the land.  I’ve been bitten by the zigzag bug and have swatching my heart out for two designs.  I have completed the first piece and am showing a preview of it below.  Interestingly, I have chosen to call it “Lombard,” after the crookedest street in San Francisco.  The pattern is not available at the moment, but will be posting more about the hat when it’s been released.

Attention LSK Shoppers…

We have added a new page on our blog, “Shop Neckwarmers,” where you can order the actual item online.  This new addition is catered to our readers who love knitted accessories but don’t knit or those who are in a great rush for something wearable yet stylish.  Single orders made through this blog are currently for the U.S. and are shipped by Priority Flat Rate Small Box.  Multiple orders and/or orders going overseas have to be conducted separately through private email and invoice from Paypal due to an adjustment in shipping rates.

I am so delighted that some of you took time to leave me comments either directly through this blog or through email.  Here’s what the latter ones said and some even have pictures of their hats:

On the Paris Beret: “Can’t even express how easy and quick the pattern was…maybe an hour and a half total for the project…”– Meg

On the Terri Hat:“I just love this pattern! When I saw it on Ravelry I laughed because it said that even a new or impatient knitter could get instant gratification. Since I’ve been doing a lot of sweaters, this seemed like the perfect project to rediscover the ‘fun’ in knitting. I have to say I really enjoyed knitting this and will knock out a few this spring for Christmas gifts with a matching scarf.

Next time I will probably make the ribbing a little deeper – maybe by a 1/2 inch. I’d like it to be a tiny bit bigger from crown to opening – but then again, it may relax a little, so we’ll see…

I’ll be posting on Ravelry and will let people know the pattern is available online…”— Karen (Thanks to Karen, I’ve made revisions to and have updated the Terri PDF Pattern, check “Errata” page.)

On the Nevada Hat: “Fast and easy pattern…I love instant gratification projects that come out super cute. I like this hat because it is warm and simple.”–Kimberly

On the Thick and Quick Watch Cap and the Terri Hat: (No picture) “I love the Thick and Quick Watch Cap…and also love your Terri cap!  I will try to stop by your website again soon!! Keep designing!”— cbailey

Special thanks to these ladies and to those who left comments.  And for those who want to leave  a comment, but have not gotten around to do it yet– c’mon, let me know what you’re thinking.  🙂

Leslie Hat Pattern Preview and Viva Las Vegas!

As promised at the previous post, I’d like to share one of the things I’ve been working on lately.  The pattern for Leslie is still on the works, but that and its details will be released soon.

It’s refreshing to see so many sights.  I feel like a kid in a candy store only the pictures below taken at Las Vegas’ newest attraction, The Cosmopolitan, are more for the eyes.

Then there are a couple of knitter’s eye candy that I had to indulge myself with at Gail’s Knits:

All in all, it was a very fruitful trip, but as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz chanted, “There’s no place like home.” 🙂
