Neckwarmer Tutorial

Step 1:

Measure length desired.  Anywhere between 23″ (58 cm) to 26″ (66 cm) should work.

Step 2:

With one strand each of an eyelash yarn and a sport weight yarn, knit a swatch.

Step 3:

Determine gauge or number of stitches in a 4″ x 4″ (10 cm x 10 cm) square.

Step 4:

Determine the number of stitches to cast on.  You need some math to accomplish this:

English System:

(Desired Length in inches  x  number of stitches in 4″)  divided by  4″  =  Number of stitches to cast on

Metric System:

(Desired Length in inches  x  number of stitches in 10 cm)  divided by  10 cm  =  Number of stitches to cast on

Step 5:

Using a set of 16″ (40 cm) US 15 (10 mm) circular needles cast on calculated number from step 4, join ends to knit in round and knit neckwarmer until desired width.
