Morgan Hat Pattern

Robin, our first hat (beanie) pattern with twisted stitches is such a hit that we had to make a slightly slouchy counterpart and Morgan is just that.  A design suitable for novice and advanced knitter alike, Morgan features cables and twisted stitches making this hat stimulating to work on.  Morgan can be worn by both women and by men simply by changing yarn colors.  Instructions are both written and charted.

Difficulty:

Beginner to Intermediate

Yarn Suggestions:

Lion Brand Thick and Quick Super Bulky Yarn, Classic Elite “Forbidden,” Cascade “Lana Grande,” Rowan “Big Wool” or any super bulky yarn.

Yardage:

87 yd (80 m)

Needles:

US 13 (9mm)- 16-inch (40 cm) Circular Needle; US 13 (9 mm) dpns; cable needle.

Size:

Approximately 20” (51 cm) and stretches to 24” (61 cm) in circumference.

Skills and Techniques Needed:

Knit, purl, cables, knitting through back loop, increasing (make 1), decreasing (knit 2 stitches together), knitting in the round, knitting with dpns.
